For this painting I used a program called ArtRage and used a tablet and a drawing pen on the tablet.

Storm's New Diet

I wanted to put Storm on a new diet.  I started to research healthy diets for bunnies and I am interested in a pellet free diet.  Here are some foods that rabbits can eat:

  • Basil
  • seeds (they can't be salted or have chemicals on them)
  • Broccoli leaves (stems or tops can make rabbits gassy)
  • Beet greens
  • Carrot tops (carrots are high in calcium and should be given sparingly)
  • Celery
  • Cilantro
  • Clover
  • Collard greens
  • Dandelion leaves
  • Dill
  • Kale (sparingly)
  • Lettuce - romaine or dark leaf (no iceberg lettuce and no cabbage)
  • Mint
  • Mustard greens
  • Oats
  • Radish tops
  • Parsley
  • Turnip greens
  • Water cress
  • Wheat Grass
  • Wheat Berries

Treats

Strawberries
Banana
Apples (no seeds)
Pineapple

He started the diet little by little, so far Storm likes to eat the fresh greens.   That's why I started a bunny garden http://stormthebunny.blogspot.com/p/storms-bunny.html

Storm's new crib

My dad and I built Storm a new cage. We aren't finished yet,
we still want to put in a little cubby for storm to sleep in and a ramp for him to play on.

We recycled the cage out of a baby crib we got for free.
Then we added a door, wire, some wood to hold up the bottom and a roof.
I can't wait to paint it.  What color should it be?
Please leave a comment.

I think Storm likes his new cage because he has more room to hop around and do binkies.

We take storm inside at night and take him out to his crib, in the day. We will mostly keep him inside in the summer time and outside in the winter, because it usually doesn't get too cold for him in California!

Storm's Log Photo Shoot

How do you know carrots are good for your eyes

Because you never see a rabbit wearing eye glasses.

What do rabbits do after their wedding?

They go on a bunnymoon.

What did the naughty bunny leave for Easter?

Deviled eggs

What did the bunny say to the duck?

You quack me up

The Rabbit Senses

Vision
A rabbit can see in every direction.  A rabbit can see an approaching predator and look for an escape.  Bright lights hurt rabbit eyes.  Rabbits don't see in every color. Sunset is the best time for rabbit vision.

Hearing:
A rabbit's strongest sense is their hearing.  Rabbits can hear pretty much in our range.  They can also hear much higher pitched sounds.  They can hear rodents, bats, bugs, some bird noises.   Rabbits can hear  lots  of electrical sounds we can’t hear.  Rabbit's ears are their heating and cooling system.  The position of a rabbit's ears is important in rabbit language.

Smell:
The twitch of a rabbits noise is very characteristic and very inportant to there survival.  It is also there second strongest sense.  Rabbits have about 50,000 scent receptors in their nose.  Rabbits are constantly moving their nose, sniffing the air.  This is called nose blinking.

Taste:
A rabbit has approximately 17,000 taste buds. They seem to tolerate bitter greens, such as dandelion, but they also enjoy fruits that are very sweet, but only feed them fruit as a treat.  Sometimes rabbits can be picky about the foods that they eat.

Touch:
Rabbits have whiskers that are as long as them. These help them measure passage ways in the dark.  Rabbits are very sensitive to touch, so handle with care.
