Storm's Teeth

The other day I was watching Storm hop around when I picked him up and saw his teeth.  I noticed that one tooth was bigger than the other, like a snaggle tooth. Rabbits have teeth that grow very fast during their lives.  In the wild, rabbits chew on a big variety of items that are natural and wear down their teeth.

What to Chew On:

Giving your bunny a fiber filled diet, with lots of fresh hay, can help prevent tooth problems.

In the wild, rabbits eat lots of fiber, including grass, leaves and bark-covered sticks that wear down their teeth. Lots of rabbits are fed a pellet diet, which does not have the heavy fiber required for proper tooth wear.

Signs Of Tooth Problems:

When the teeth becomes too long they form small hook like things known as spurs. These spurs can cut your rabbits gum tissues or cheeks which may result in painful abscesses. An abscess is a like a puss filled sore.

If Rabbits Teeth keep growing after a while it will start to grow back into their gums.
