How to Read Rabbit Body Language

Thumping:  When a bunny thumps or stomps his/her hind leg it means he/she is annoyed with you, scared or nervous.

Teeth Grinding:  If your rabbit is grinding it's teeth and it sounds like a cat's purr, he/she is relaxed.  If bunny is grinding their teeth loud it means he/she feels pain and isn't  feeling good.

Binky: A binky is when bunny jumps and spins in the air.  It means they are very happy.

Soft Squeal or whimper: This means mild annoyance or displeasure.                        

Flopping: This is when you rabbit sits still and then flops over; don't be worried, it just means he/she is relaxed.

Grunting, Growling, Snorting and Hissing: Varied stages of anger, stress or feeling threatened.

Licking: This means your bunny has accepted you and is showing their affection.

Soft Honking or Oinking: If your bunny is circling you and honking it is time for a neutering.

Screaming: This is a sign of extreme pain or fear.  Do not ignore this if he/she is screaming for no reason, then you should take him/her to the vet.
